Alabamans: Thank the House members who voted down the weak smoke-free bill

We did it! The bad smoke-free bill that left many workers still breathing secondhand smoke has been defeated in committee.

“We are pleased that the committee will wait to pass a strong smokefree law and we look forward to working with them,” said Ashley Lyerly, Senior Director of Public Policy with the American Lung Association. “We are encouraged by the number of legislators, residents, business organizations and volunteers that support a campaign to protect everyone’s right to breathe clean air and we will not give up on a smokefree Alabama.”
